Impromptu Railfanning: Late November 2014 on the CSX Philly Sub

My wife was out of town for the day, so my friend Tristan came down to Baltimore for a day of eating badly and trains. While we were out and about, I grabbed a quick photo of an eastbound CSX train on the Philly Sub.

Our main stop was Ken Poznaniak’s  HO scale model railroad. But, after we were done, we headed over to the “Route 40 Corridor” for a Wawa run and peek at CSX and the Amtrak Northeast Corridor. As we were pulling out of the parking lot, I heard the unmistakeable sound of a diesel across the street.

We setoff on the chase, simultaneously looking to get ahead of him, and for a good vantage point.

Success was finally had at Martha Lewis Lane.

Of course, I didn’t have my real camera ready, so I only had my cell phone, but aside from some blur on the nose of the locomotive, it’s not a terrible photo (especially since it was so late in the day).
