Impromptu Railfanning: Late November 2014 on the CSX Philly Sub

My wife was out of town for the day, so my friend Tristan came down to Baltimore for a day of eating badly and trains. While we were out and about, I grabbed a quick photo of an eastbound CSX train on the Philly Sub.

Our main stop was Ken Poznaniak’s ┬áHO scale model railroad. But, after we were done, we headed over to the “Route 40 Corridor” for a Wawa run and peek at CSX and the Amtrak Northeast Corridor. As we were pulling out of the parking lot, I heard the unmistakeable sound of a diesel across the street.

We setoff on the chase, simultaneously looking to get ahead of him, and for a good vantage point.

Success was finally had at Martha Lewis Lane.

Of course, I didn’t have my real camera ready, so I only had my cell phone, but aside from some blur on the nose of the locomotive, it’s not a terrible photo (especially since it was so late in the day).
