Bayview used to be a great place to sit and watch trains, before the Volunteer Corps of America moved in and ruined it. You could catch mainline action, and if your timing was good, be well-positioned to head off and chase something going down to Canton.

These photos come from a one day trip to show some of my Baltimore and Harrisburg friends some of the great stuff Philly has to offer. Ironically, we saw lots of things, but I don’t think we caught a single moving train all day.
