I can’t believe I forgot to post this last fall! My friend Russ has started a company, Luxury Rail Travel, that does private car charters (amongst other fun things), and I got a chance to ride his first trip to Pittsburgh. I had also just gotten my video camera, so I shot video.

Railfanning Martin State Airport, May 2017
I’ve been doing a weekly railroad night with some of my friends since I started my current job where I work from home. Usually my group of friends go to someone’s house and works on modeling projects, but sometimes we head out railfanning. With the weather turning nice, I think that’s going to happen more often.
Pittsburgh, Fall of 2016
My friend Ben, who I’ve mentioned a number of times here is a Pittsburgh boy. Consequently, when contemplating railfanning trip destinations, the Steel City frequently comes up. When planning a trip for the fall of 2016, he wanted to show off more of the city he loves, and especially the Conemaugh Line he’s planning to model.
A Few Minutes In Lancaster, January 2017
I had word that one of my favorite hobby shops was closing up, so I met my dad for one last stop before they were gone. While in town, we stopped by NS’s Dillerville Yard and the Amtrak Lancaster Station.
Trying Out My New Camera on the NEC
I recently purchased a new camera, and spent a few hours getting familiar with it in a familiar setting: the Martin State MARC station.
April 2015 Philly Trip
I grew up, and learned how to railfan in Philadelphia. Every once in a while I get a chance to go back and checkout my old haunts. This spring, I got a chance to do that with some friends and show them around the city that was so formative.
Shaking Off Some Cabin Fever in March of 2015
The past few days have been snowy and busy. The combination conspired to keep me locked up in the house, and I needed to get out.
Amtrak’s Busiest Day 2014
I tried something different this year: going up to Delaware for Amtrak’s busiest day. Ironically, it resulted in more freight action but missing the special Amtrak moves.
The West Side of Baltimore: November 2014
My friend Chris and I took the opportunity of a nice November day for me to show him around the parts of the West Side of Baltimore he hadn’t seen yet.
Quick October NEC Scouting Trip
My friend Chris runs a railfan video company, which provides a great excuse to sneak out and go railfanning, even just for a few hours. On this day, we decided to go scouting locations on the NEC in northeastern Maryland and Delaware.
