Chasing the Wilmington & Western on Halloween 2020
What’s better than doing some trick or treating with a steam engine? Getting to go do it with a friend! 2020 has seen a real deficit of social railfanning. Luckily, the W&W is in my friend Dave’s back yard and he was just getting off of work when the chase was on.
The day started off at the Wilmington & Western’s Greenbank station where their 0-6-0 #58 was patiently waiting to depart.
I don’t know why always being lit wrongly is a common issue with steam heritage railroads, but hooray for dramatic backlighting?
The train departed at 12:30, and we know the railroad runs on its stomach, so here we see the fireman grabbing lunch before taking off.
