The Bedford (now Altoona) N Scale Weekend is a great event. The show itself has always been interesting, but it also serves as a good excuse to get out to a fun part of the world and do some railfanning. I did that exact thing this with my friends Ben, Lee and Josh.

Trying Out My New Camera on the NEC
I recently purchased a new camera, and spent a few hours getting familiar with it in a familiar setting: the Martin State MARC station.
April 2015 Philly Trip
I grew up, and learned how to railfan in Philadelphia. Every once in a while I get a chance to go back and checkout my old haunts. This spring, I got a chance to do that with some friends and show them around the city that was so formative.
Reliving My Childhood: Honeywell Chemical In Philadelphia
I often joke that I am the way I am because I grew up up the street from a Chemical plant. I’m not making it up though. Allied Chemical had a plant at the end of my street. Conrail served this plant via a spur with lots of character, and I’ve long wanted to catch a train there again.
Good Friday Railfanning 2015: The CSX Hanover Sub and NS Lurgan Line
My friends Ben, Sean and I have a yearly tradition of going out railfanning on Good Friday. This year, at Sean’s excellent suggestion, we set our sights on CSX’s Hanover Subdivision.
Shaking Off Some Cabin Fever in March of 2015
The past few days have been snowy and busy. The combination conspired to keep me locked up in the house, and I needed to get out.
CSX Local at the Collingdale CPLs
My friend Chris and I were on our way to the Conrail Retiree’s luncheon on behalf of the CRHS when we got incredibly lucky on CSX’s Philly Sub.
Amtrak’s Busiest Day 2014
I tried something different this year: going up to Delaware for Amtrak’s busiest day. Ironically, it resulted in more freight action but missing the special Amtrak moves.
Impromptu Railfanning: Late November 2014 on the CSX Philly Sub
My wife was out of town for the day, so my friend Tristan came down to Baltimore for a day of eating badly and trains. While we were out and about, I grabbed a quick photo of an eastbound CSX train on the Philly Sub.
The West Side of Baltimore: November 2014
My friend Chris and I took the opportunity of a nice November day for me to show him around the parts of the West Side of Baltimore he hadn’t seen yet.
