Spent some time in NEPA, April 2017, Part 1
Hearing my friend Ryan’s tales of Northeastern PA enticed us to go spend a weekend up that way seeing what there was to see. Turns out, the answer was a bunch of great stuff.
April 2017 Trip to The Lehigh Valley
Watching John Pechulis Media’s Big Mike videos kindled an interest in the Lehigh Valley. Luckily, my friend Rudy is a bit of a subject matter expert, and Good Friday 2017 provided Ben and I the perfect opportunity to go explore (and eat our way through) the area.
Pittsburgh, Fall of 2016
My friend Ben, who I’ve mentioned a number of times here is a Pittsburgh boy. Consequently, when contemplating railfanning trip destinations, the Steel City frequently comes up. When planning a trip for the fall of 2016, he wanted to show off more of the city he loves, and especially the Conemaugh Line he’s planning to model.
A Few Minutes In Lancaster, January 2017
I had word that one of my favorite hobby shops was closing up, so I met my dad for one last stop before they were gone. While in town, we stopped by NS’s Dillerville Yard and the Amtrak Lancaster Station.
Shortline scenes around York PA, October 2016
I was in York the day before a larger railfanning trip and got a chance to see some of the local sights.
A Rainy Day in Hollidaysburg
Staying at the charmingly classic Wye Motor Lodge during The N Scale weekend afforded the opportunity to catch the NS Cove Secondary Local at work.
The Conrail Heritage Unit at CP Altoona August 2016
August of 2016 found me in Altoona for the N Scale Weekend. It was a fun event that also happened to coincide with a visit from the NS 8098, better known as the Conrail Heritage Unit.
A White Christmas On the M&H
I had originally intended to go shoot some backdrop photos for my model railroad, but the weather decided not to cooperate. So, instead, my friend Ben and I got the chance to go shoot the M&H Santa Train in suitable weather.
